March 2017
Greetings, scouts and families! It has been a while and the pack has been pretty busy! March is almost over and we got a lot coming up in the next few months. I am working on updating the site, so BEAR with me. Since I am new to this if anyone has something they would like me to add or suggestions please let me know. Creek week is April 29 and family camp out is in the works. Everyone has been working hard at selling those camp cards! The end of the scouting year is right around the corner, so I know a lot of the dens are working hard at advancements! More to come! Chelle Epling (better known as Seth's mom) |
Much has happened since we last spoke!
Hello, families and friends of Pack 22! It's been a busy year, and everyone has been doing great things. Our pack has grown slightly, parent involvement is at an all-time high, and most importantly, the scouts are growing and learning as fast as ever! Sacramento Musical Theatre Visit, 9/18/2014
In each den, we routinely go on field trips to businesses, government agencies, etc. in the community to learn how these facilities work. That den usually extends an offer to the other dens for those scouts to join in, so all of the scouts can benefit. In September of 2014, one of the dens organized a trip to the Sacramento Musical Theatre, and many other scouts visited as well. As you can see below, fun was had by all!
Pack Meeting, 9/23/2014
Each month, we hold a pack meeting, where awards are handed out, rank advancements are presented, and pack business is taken care of.
Halloween Pack Meeting, October 2014 During the October pack meeting, we hold our normal Pack Meeting, with a twist: We dress up in our Halloween costumes, each den brings a game to contribute, and we have a carnival! The scouts had a blast last year, as did the parents and leaders.
Other 2014-2015 Highlights
More 2015 news to come! |
Let the 2014-2015 Scouting Year Begin!
Today was the first Pack Meeting of the 2014-2015 scouting year, and what a turnout! Thanks to our ongoing weekly gatherings at Freedom Park throughout the summer, scouts and parents remained engaged and enthusiastic, and we really hit the ground running. Over the summer, while I was cooking about 250-300 hot dogs and at least 100 hamburger patties, they were learning and having fun by participating in elective activities. The number of belt loops, pins, patches, and rank advancements earned by these boys since May is a testament to the dedication of parents and scouts alike. Congrats, everyone! It's going to be a great year! |

2014 Pinewood Derby
Pack 22 has completed its 2014 Pinewood Derby! Scouts from Tiger, Wolf, Bear and Webelos dens got to race their hand-made derby cars on a state-of-the-art track. The scouts enjoyed seeing their cars times and speeds (to scale) as well as cheering each other on. Congratulations to the Top 3 who will have a chance to compete in the Pioneer District's Pinewood Derby hosted at Mel Rapton Honda. |
Downtown Sacramento Santa Parade
In December, 2013 Pack 22 marched with the Pioneer District in the Downtown Sacramento Santa Parade. Great scout spirit from all Pioneer Distrct packs and troops Afterwards, scouts from Pack 22 and Troop 22 visited Downtown Plaza, and were pleasantly surprised to find some fun events held by the Sacramento Kings |
2013 Eternal Flame Weekend
Pack 22 had a great time at the Eternal Flame weekend. Families camped out in a section of Gibson Ranch, along with other Boy Scout troops, Cub Scout packs and Venturing Crews from around the Sacramento area. The Pack participated in the retirement of American flags that were no longer suitable for display (e.g. ripped, faded, or damaged). When not participating in the ceremonies, there were activities around to learn skills, teamwork and have fun! |
