What uniform items
are required?
Here are the uniform requirements:
  • Rank Hat
  • Rank Neckerchief
  • Rank Slide
  • Shirt (recommend buy size larger than what fits)
    • Tigers, Wolves, Bears, and 1st year Webelos Scouts wear the Blue Cub Scout Shirt
    • 2nd year Webelos Scouts wear the Khaki Boy Scout Shirt
  • Patches:  Golden Empire Council, Pack "22", World Scouting Crest, and your individual den number(s) to which you are assigned.
  • Belt
  • Rank Handbook
First, we are a "belt up" Pack.  This means you don't have to purchase uniform pants or socks right away.  We ask that the boys wear blue jeans or navy blue pants with belt loops to allow the scout belt with awarded belt loops to be worn.

  • Scouting t-shirt of some kind (an orange "Tiger" shirt -- if he's a Tiger, a Pack 22 t-shirt, t-shirt from Twilight Camp, or some other Scouting t-shirt from the scout store) for outings or messy or very physical activities.
  • red vest for temporary and event patches. (Some families have found other ways to display these, like a blanket, or in a scrapbook, etc)
Where do I get
his uniform?
You can buy the items online at scoutstuff.org, at the River City Scout Shop (251 Commerce Dr., Sacramento -- map), or at a local thrift shop.

Handing down is a scouting tradition.  You can also borrow/get some of the items from a friend, or you can borrow them from the "uniform closet" we've been putting together.  Ask your den leader for information about this if you are interested.

Where are patches worn
on the uniform?
See your scout's handbook for detailed diagrams, typically inside the back cover
